Brightmore’s Busy Bees: Serving the Community One Stitch at a Time

January 24, 2020

What could be better than a hobby that provides creative and social stimulation?! How about one that also opens an opportunity to help serve the community!

If you’re strolling past the Brightmore Arts & Crafts Room on a Thursday afternoon around 1:00 pm, you’ll hear the excited chatter of ladies creating beautiful wearable art. They’re called the “Busy Bees”, and as the name suggests, they have been busy! The group collectively knitted over 100 caps in 2019 and have donated them to organizations in the greater Charlotte area dedicated to helping those in need. Caps have also been sent to Native American reservations in South Dakota.
